About Us
True Vision Physicians & Surgeons, originating in 1961 is comprised of seven eye care physicians, including five board certified ophthalmologists and two board certified optometrists. Our Ophthalmologists are fellowship trained in the subspecialties of oculoplastic surgery, glaucoma, and corneal surgery, and two ophthalmologists focusing on the treatment of retinal disease including macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Our Optometrists are trained in primary eye care, ocular disease, cornea, and contact lenses.
True Vision Physicians & Surgeons has maintained a reputation for quality, caring, accessibility, and surgical expertise. We have providers on call to allow full-time patient and physician access.
At True Vision Physicians & Surgeons, we utilize state-of-the-art technology and offer a complete spectrum of eye care, including refractive surgery like PRK and LASIK. Intraocular surgeries including; cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, and cornea surgeries are performed at two of our local surgical centers (McKay Dee Surgical Center and Mount Ogden Surgical Center).
Cosmetic oculoplastic procedures such as Blepharoplasties, Ptosis Repair, lid lesion removals, laser skin treatments, Botox, and facial fillers are performed in our two modern operating suites located at each of our eye centers.
We are active members of the medical staff and provide quality patient care at both McKay-Dee Hospital and Ogden Regional Medical Center.
We are committed to working with local hospitals and other health care providers and payers to improve the quality and cost-efficiency of patient care in our community.
Physician Education
At True Vision Physicians & Surgeons, we are actively engaged in the teaching of McKay-Dee Family Practice residents. One member of our group, a clinical instructor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, has received two teaching recognition awards. Two of our ophthalmologists are clinical faculty members of the University of Utah Department of Ophthalmology.
Research
True Vision Physicians & Surgeons has an ongoing interest in basic and clinical ophthalmic research. Members of the group participate as clinical investigators for different research projects. This experience keeps our providers at the forefront for eye care advances.
In an effort to provide you with the finest quality medical service, we recommend a comprehensive eye exam by an ophthalmologist for the following:
- School age children are re-evaluated with vision checks approximately every year.
- At puberty.
- Healthy adults every two to three years. All contact lens wearers every one to two years.
- Those over 60 years of age every one to two years.
The frequency of a comprehensive eye exam may vary due to the individual’s age, race, past visual history, family history of disease, and the types of symptoms or visual findings encountered, or in some cases if no symptoms are present.
